Producciones 451 is a film company that owes its name to the film ‘Fahrenheit 451’ (Dir. F. Truffaut, 1966) and since the creation of its brand, in 2006, until now it has evoked its own universe through images.

Synopsis: 1954. The atomic era begins. The fishing boat Lucky Dragon No 5 is contaminated by the radiation of an H-Bomb test. The event causes turmoils all over Japan. The Film Director Ishiro Honda, a prisoner of war during the 2nd World War, and inspired by the Lucky Dragon boat incident, wants to create a movie that would issue a warning that would change the world. This warning will have a name: Godzilla.


Through the 60 years of Godzilla movies, the documentary will show the most important contemporary atomic events, from Hiroshima through the times of Cold War, until nowadays. Godzilla is today a cinematic icon and forms part of the pop culture. Godzilla is a worldwide success, with 30 films released, being one of the longest Saga of cinema history. Godzilla is still here to remind us that we shall not break with the natural balance of the planet. Is Godzilla representing a human being? Is it not true that we are immersed in a true Godzilla movie after the nuclear disaster of Fukushima?


This documentary contains the main voices of kaiju eiga: Akira Takarada, Haruo Nakajima, Kenpachiro Satsuma, Koichi Kawakita, Teruyoshi Nakano, Shusuke Kaneko, Masaaki Tezuka, Yukiko Kobayashi, Akira Kubo, Hiroshi Koizumi, Shinji Higuchi and others.
